about

Bodyswitch is the recording name of Bay Area-based artist Paul Abueg-Igaz. The songs on "Escape From Hill Valley" come from an imagined alternate timeline in which the recording techniques pioneered by Jamaica's dub engineers had been known and utilized by American pop producers of the 1960s. These recordings follow the dub traditions set by King Tubby and Scientist of live mixing a highly augmented "version" of a song using studio effects like delay, reverb and phaser. The results are like a malt shoppe jukebox floating in space.
